How to change my camera to connect WiFi network?

Currently, only HomeCam 2, ProCam 1 and ProCam 2 can connect to WiFi network.If you did not select WiFi network during the registration process, please log in to Skywatch with a browser or App when the camera is online, select the camera's settings page, and select the name of the WiFi network you want to connect to. After setting, unplug the network cable and power cable, and then switch to WiFi network after plugging in the power again.

I see a LED indicator on my camera. Can you elaborate more about its status?

HomeCam 2

  • LED off: The camera may be powered off.

  • Blue steady on: Your network may have been disconnected.

  • Green steady on: The camera has been connected to the network, but it may not be able to acquire a network IP and connect to the Internet.

  • Green blinking: The camera is connected to the Internet to the Skywatch platform.

ProCam 1.0

  • LED off: The camera may be powered off.

  • Red steady on: Your network may have been disconnected.

  • Green steady on: The camera has been connected to the network, but it may not be able to acquire a network IP and connect to the Internet.

  • Green blinking: The camera is connected to the Internet to the Skywatch platform.

ProCam 2

LINK network indicator: When there is no network, the indicator is off. If the indicator flashes, the network connection is normal.

How do I tell if my WiFi signal strength is sufficient?

Go to the "Camera" page, enter the "Settings" page from the upper menu button, and press the "Search" button in the "Wifi Networks" setting to know the nearby WiFi network and its signal strength.

How can I restore my camera to factory default settings?

ProCam 2 / ToughCam 2 / ToughDome 2

Please disconnect power from your camera. Find the RESET button on the camera, and press the button with a paperclip. Keep the button depressed while reconnecting power to your camera, and release the button after approximately 30 seconds.

HomeCam 2 / ProCam 1

Please power on your camera. Find the RESET button on the camera, and press the button with a paperclip. Release the button while the indicator flashes.

ToughCam 4 / ToughDome 4

No restore hardware function.

I want to know what the settings in "General Settings'' mean on the camera?

Here you can know the basic information of the camera, such as the MAC number, and adjust the camera's time zone and image settings. Using ProCam to explain:

  1. Type: Displays the category of the camera

  2. MAC Number: The serial number of this camera

  3. Name and description: Can be changed according to your needs, so that you can know the monitoring position of the camera

  4. LED off: If you don’t want others to know that this camera is working, you can check to turn off the LED indicator

  5. Timestamp overlay: There will be a name and time stamp on the image, and it will be displayed on the video and snapshot

  6. Mute: Turn off the sound of the camera, there will be no sound in the recording file

  7. Mic volume: Adjust the volume of the camera audio

  8. Camera time zone: Please select the time zone of your camera

  9. Daylight Saving Time: If you implement daylight saving time in the time zone of your camera, please enable it

  10. Connection: Displays the current camera connection method, wired network or WiFi network

  11. Resolution: The resolution of the camera can be adjusted according to demand

  12. FPS: The number of frames displayed by the camera per second

  13. Quality: The image quality, the better the quality, the greater the bandwidth required

  14. Color: color or black and white

  15. Power Frequency: Adjust the power frequency (60 Hz/50 Hz) according to the location of the camera

  16. Flip and mirror: According to the way the camera is installed (ceiling/wall), adjust the direction of the image

  17. Brightness/Contrast/Saturation/Sharpness: Adjust the appropriate parameters according to your environment

  18. Use B/W for night: The default is on. Because the night mode, infrared entering the photosensitive element will cause color shift, and the black and white mode will make the picture clearer

  19. Use IR for night: The default is on. At night, turn on infrared to increase the visible brightness

  20. IR cut filter: The camera has a removable infrared filter. In low-light environments, the camera can automatically remove the infrared filter to let infrared light enter the photosensitive element

    1. Auto mode: The camera adjusts the infrared filter by judging the brightness in the environment.

    2. Day mode: The camera will keep the infrared filter turned on to block infrared rays from entering the photosensitive element to avoid color shift.

    3. Night mode: The camera will keep the infrared filter closed to allow infrared light to enter the photosensitive element to improve the sensitivity of low brightness.

21. Light sensor sensitivity: Adjust the sensitivity of the brightness sensor (lowest/medium/highest).

22. Max Exposure Time: Adjust the maximum exposure time of the camera (1/120S / 1/60S / 1/ 30S /1/15S/ 1/5S).

How do I upgrade the firmware on my camera?

Running the latest firmware can help improve performance and reliability of your cameras. However, please use caution and make sure you do not unplug the camera during the upgrade process.You may upgrade to the latest firmware as follows.

  • With a browser: login to your Skywatch account, and from the camera settings page, in the "General" section, you may see a firmware upgrade button if your camera is eligible for an upgrade.

  • Through the mobile App: click the camera settings icon, and you may see a firmware upgrade button if your camera is eligible for an upgrade.

Once the camera enters the reflashing process, the LED indicator may change to a different status, and you may lose connection for up to an hour. Your camera will resume online when the process is complete. Again, do not attempt to unplug the camera until the process is complete.
